Laser-based vehicle detection without groundwork

The Bam Bormet lasersensor is the ideal solution for detecting all types of vehicles — without the need for ground loops or roadworks. Mounted next to the boom barrier on a dedicated pole, the laser unit uses three infrared beams to define a precise detection zone. The system filters out pedestrians and cross-traffic, ensuring the boom only opens when a vehicle is approaching.

Smart detection for fast and safe access

The laser sensor enables both secure detection and user safety. Vehicles and persons within the monitored zone are protected from boom arm movement. The system can detect approach direction, ideal for directional access setups. Installation is quick, with no excavation required, and can be configured horizontally or vertically.

The compact unit (125 × 93 × 70 mm) is vandal-resistant, IP65 rated, and operates reliably in temperatures from -30°C to +60°C. Mounting options include wall brackets or ground screws, adapted for the chosen detection direction.

Fully compliant with EN 12453, EN ISO 13849-1 PL “d”/CAT2, and other relevant standards.
